Julie Anne Smith, A.K.A. Julianne Moore is a remarkable Hollywood actress and author who's talents have brought an acclaim from critics as well as recognition. She's a Sagittarius born on December 3 1960 in North Carolina. She's the eldest of three siblings, born to Peter Moore Smith who was the paratrooper. Her mother Anne works as a psychotherapist. She is of English and Scottish roots. Moore's father moved around frequently due to his work. It was difficult for her to make and keep friendships. After her family relocated to Germany Moore attended Frankfurt American High School where she began appearing in performances. Her education continued at Boston University where she graduated in 1983 with a B.F.A. A thesis on Theater. Moore's career began at New York with Off-Broadway Theater immediately following the completion of her studies. In 1985, she made her debut on the screen as a character in The Edge of Night. Her break came in 1986 when she played the roles of Sabrina Hughes as well as Frannie Hughes in the show The World Turns. In 1988 she was a part-time actor on the show, and won an Daytime Emmy Award. In 1990, she was the first film actress to make her debut on cinema in Tales from the Darkside: The Movie which she later described as an awful low-budget movie. Short Cuts, both produced by Robert Altman (1993), and 3 Women, also productions by Altman (1997) included among her movies. She received several nominations and acclaim for the initial film. Moore landed her first leading role on the screen in Safe (1995). In 1997 the actress career reached a turning point after Steven Spielberg cast her to play the lead role in Jurassic Park: The Lost World which was the highest grossing film of 1997. The film she starred in was Magnolia (1999) that was praised by critics which earned her an SAG nod for her role. In 2002, she co-starred with The Hours which got nominated for nine Academy Awards with Nicole Kidman as well as Meryl Streep. More movies Moore starred in include The Forgotten (2004) Freedomland (2006) Shelter (2010) etc. She was also in Non-Stop (2014). Moore was a regular in many films and television programs. Her first novel was published Freckleface Strawberry in 2007 and was a N.Y.T. Best-seller, it was also transformed into a TV series and music. The author has also released her memoir, My Mom is Foreigner in 2013, a memoir in 2013. Moore, as a very popular author and performer is also known for making her personal life known to the world. She got married to John Robin in 1984 and they divorced in 1995. They have two children together with Bart Freundlich whom she later was married to in 2003.
